Spring is about new beginnings and fresh starts, and so is this newsletter!

A warm welcome to the few new faces who have begun moving with us over the last couple of weeks, a big ‘welcome back’ to some of our favourite bodies that spent their winter in warmer climates (totes jealous), and a massive shoutout to all of the movers who trained right through winter.

INTRODUCING YOUR NEW IN-HOUSE PHYSIO!

Stephanie Zamoyski
Registered Physiotherapist (B.H.Sci, M.Phty 2013)

Please join us in welcoming Steph, a qualified dance / aerial physiotherapist and a combined aerialist (what a killer combination!) to The Movement Academy team.

As Director of Raw Element Physiotherapy and a senior therapist at Perfect Form Physiotherapy in Surry Hills for several years, Steph has extensive clinical experience and has also provided consultancy and management for Gymnastics Australia since 2015. Steph genuinely understands the demands on a performance artist’s body, is an advanced dry needler and prides herself in biomechanical analysis and the correction of movement dysfunction. She is particularly passionate about screening athletes and developing individualised prevention programs based on her findings.

Steph has moved in upstairs and is ready to give your body the love and attention it deserves, so please CONTACT her directly to schedule your appointment.

TIMETABLE UPDATES

We are all still in shock with the sudden departure of our beloved Coach Bridget (sad face) as she heads back to Montreal to be the superstar that we all know she is. We can assure you that no one was more sad about this change than Bridget herself, however the unfortunate reality of hosting the best coaches in the business is that they are wanted all around the world!

But as Imogen likes to say, from crisis comes opportunity… crisitunity… and boy do we have some good news for you!

Coach Woody will be heading Aerial Straps beginning next Monday at 7:30pm, and Thursday night movers are in for an absolute treat with our newest resident coach, Miss Emma Dutton, taking on a new Straps Conditioning class starting this Thursday at 6:00pm.

Straps Conditioning will be perfect for the seasoned straps student looking to clean up their technique and mobility, and those wishing to venture into the world of straps; as an aerial straps artist or as a conditioning tool for any aerial apparatus.

Unfortunately this also means that Dance Trapeze will be on a break whilst we await the perfect coach to be available, but we assure you that once we can get the stars to align, the wait will be worth it!

ADVANCED TRAPEZE TERM

Just like our Hot Topics, we will now be running advanced terms on a rotating schedule, starting with Advanced Trapeze coached by resident trapeze master himself, Bernard Bru!

Book in now at the desk or call 0447 881 629 to enrol using the standard class rate, 10 Pass, or through your membership.

Yours in good health and great movement,

The Team at TMA
