What a journey hey… Are we there yet?!
We sincerely hope that you have made it through to the other side in one strong, safe piece. It has been such a pleasure to see some of your faces during private coaching over the last week and we look forward to much more of that in the coming weeks.
As promised, the intention of this newsletter is to provide you with a gradual update as we progress from one step to the next.
For everyone’s health and safety, we are following a framework that reflects both national and international standards of practice. We will continually monitor and review the implementation of hygiene measures to ensure they are being followed and remain effective. Rather than bombard you with each and every measure we are taking, we have posted a small sign in the foyer that we ask you all to read upon entering the gym. It lists all of the relevant practices and changes that we’d like you to follow whilst in the space. And the rest you can leave up to us!
OPENING HOURS
From Monday 29th June onwards, our opening hours will be:
Monday – Thursday: 12pm-9pm
Friday: 12pm-5pm
Saturday: 9am-5pm
Sunday: closed
In the interest of your health and safety, and as part of our effort to control capacity and allow space for everyone, please respect our new 2 hour daily training limit (previously 3 hours) when visiting The Movement Academy for classes and/or open training.
Although this will be the new normal for all movers at TMA (and many gyms around Australia) we aim to increase this back to the previous limit of 3 hours as soon as it is safe and viable to do so.
OPEN TRAINING & ADULTS TIMETABLE
As previously announced, adult classes and open training will resume this Monday 29th June, and the timetable is up and ready for booking!
If you haven’t already, can you please get in touch with us if you would like to reactivate your membership, and let us know what date you would like it to begin from. Some of you may still have credits from unused portions of passes, terms or memberships, and we will more than happily apply those credits accordingly. Please just send us an email or call us to get the ball rolling!
You will notice that there are some classes we are yet to re-introduce. This is partly due to our new opening hours, but also part of our attempt to spread out the number of bodies within the space at any one time. We will be keeping a close eye on bookings and aim to grow the timetable as demand increases and risk decreases.
KIDS TERMS & SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMS
Kids classes will kick off at the start of Term 3 beginning 20th July!
Please keep an eye on your emails towards the end of this week as we will be contacting parents with the option of re-enrolling your kids. All of the families from Term 1 will have 2-3 unused classes due to the sudden lockdown and that will of course be addressed in the email going out to you.
Due to the limited time that we have to prepare, and to give ourselves the opportunity to re-open gradually, we regret to announce that we will not be running workshops during the upcoming school holidays. But rest assured that we look forward to reintroducing them with a bang following Term 3!
HOLD YOURSELF GENTLY
Finally, and most importantly… Please know that no one is expecting anything from you but kindness and love when you return to classes in the coming weeks.
We have all been through our own individual journeys, physically and emotionally, and we can only assume that many of you will have mixed feelings about your first visit. Our coaches have been briefed to start slowly and gently, regardless of the class or perceived level.
Not that you need permission, but we’ll extend it to you regardless; when stepping through our doors for the first few weeks (and as long as you need) take it easy and be patient with yourself.
Thank you for all of your support during this crazy, trying period. We have endeavoured to keep you as informed as possible, without adding unnecessary noise or complicating matters any further. As mentioned, we will continue to keep you informed of any new changes to the ways in which we operate, but if there is anything that you feel we have left out, or if you have any specific requests, please do not hesitate to get in touch by phone or email.
Our sincerest thanks, gratitude and support.
The Team at TMA
